Soundscapes from Italy

Soundscapes from Italy is a piano and voice recital presented by Soprano Alessia Paolini and pianist Antonella di Giulio and featuring Italian arias and art songs from the 19th and 20th Centuries. Love in its many and varied facets has been a recurrent theme of the Italian repertoire over the Centuries, however, each Composer offers a diverse and unique interpretation, with his exceptional ability to create a perfect bond between music and lyrics.

Italian soprano Alessia Paolini received a Master’s Degree in Voice Performance from Houghton College, NY, and a Master’s degree in Voice summa cum laude with honors at the Conservatory of Music of L’Aquila, her hometown. She studied at the University of Music and Arts in Graz (Austria), on an Erasmus Scholarship Program, specializing in German Opera and Lieder- Art Song repertoire.

[X-press-O]

The [X-press-O] Ensemble was founded in 2018 by Antonella Di Giulio, Efrem Bekteshi and Noemi Bekteshi. The idea around this ensemble was inspired by a well-known Salon Orchestra based in Leipzig (Germany) and directed by Albrecht Winter. Directed by Antonella Di Giulio, the ensemble’s members are talented musicians who are assembled depending on the themes in the program. The ensemble aims to bring into light minor and enjoyable works in the fashion of the old European tradition of salon music for coffee hours. The efficiency of our society and the consequent lack of time made the coffee hours disappear in the original sense of an enjoyable time dedicated to a lovely chat with friends and family and to pleasant activities, like listening to music, reading for pure pleasure or even just sitting quietly and undisturbed for a cup of coffee… or for a short espresso. With our ensemble, we would like to work against this fast-paced trend and to make a great variety of pleasant and short works of art instantly available.

Imagine being in a European Café, in Vienna, Rome, or Paris, imagine being surrounded by pure beauty and enjoy our music.
